Financial Counseling Department Assistance

CCHHS now has an expanded financial counseling group at our healthcare facilities. Financial counselors are a valuable resource who are there to help individuals and their family members:

  • apply for financial assistance to pay for medical services, in regard to state and federal assistance programs, such as Medicaid.
  • complete, if necessary, redetermination forms for the Medicaid program, and
  • understand their available managed care choices and plans.

You do not have to be a current or former patient of CCHHS to apply for financial assistance or obtain help in applying for state and federal assistance. If you are thinking about using any one of our facilities and want to know what type and how much financial assistance you are eligible for before you receive the service, you can talk to a financial counselor.

Our bilingual staff has access to 170 languages through our interpreter services program. CCHHS financial counselors staff screen, qualify and approve individuals for assistance programs in a streamlined process; and individuals should be prepared to give basic information about household size and income; and the birth dates of individuals living in the household.

Assistance is available on a sliding scale, and will apply to services across the CCHHS spectrum, including clinic visits, laboratory services, hospital stays, prescriptions, urgent and emergency care. Individuals may be responsible for service fees, which will be explained when applying for financial assistance. Patients have 90 days from date of service(s) to apply for financial assistance. After 90 days, your bill might go to collection.
