Assistance Programs

About CareLink

CareLink is a new financial assistance program established to help Cook County residents who are uninsured or under insured relieve their financial responsibility for their health care services at CCHHS. CareLink replaces the former Limit of Liability (LOL) program.

Financial counselors help patients and their family members to determine eligibility for CareLink and other state and federal assistance programs. CCHHS staff screen, qualify and approve patients for assistance programs faster than before through a streamlined process, and partner with government assistance eligibility specialists to secure coverage.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available on a sliding scale, and will apply to services across the CCHHS spectrum, including clinic visits, laboratory services, hospital stays, prescriptions, urgent and emergency care. Patients may be responsible for service fees, which will be explained when applying for financial assistance.

How to apply

To apply for CareLink Financial Assistance Program, patients will schedule a face to face appointment with a financial counselor to complete an application and bring their supporting documentation.
