The John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital Pediatric Residents are dedicated to taking care of patients, but also understand the importance of camaraderie and getting to know each other outside of the hospital.
The Pediatrics department hosts several social events a year, including the annual department picnic, Halloween potluck, Christmas secret Santa exchange, Dr. Jacob’s bowtie day, International Festival, senior picture day, and the senior graduation ceremony. In addition, the residents frequently have get-togethers to explore the beautiful city of Chicago.
Chicago has so much to offer. You can cheer for the many sports teams, including the Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Bears. For people who love the outdoors, you can take advantage of the 26 mile lakefront path by biking, running, rollerblading, or just going to the beach! There is great shopping and endless restaurants located in downtown, very close to the hospital. There is always a concert or outdoor festival to catch, such as Taste of Chicago, Jazzfest, and Lollapalooza.
