The Division of Neurology at the Cook County Health and Hospitals System provides a full complement of clinical services. Each year, Neurology physicians see over 2,000 patients in the hospital and 6,000 in the outpatient clinics. Patients are seen at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital, Provident Hospital, the Core Center and the Oak Forest Medical Center. Tests such as EEGs and EMGs are performed in the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital Neurophysiology Laboratory.

The Division participates in research in stroke prevention. Stroger Hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission. The Division provides education and training to medical students and resident physicians. All the Neurology physicians are board-certified. All hold faculty appointments with local medical schools.
