Cook County Hospital is described by others as a place to serve the under-served, to learn “hands-on”, and to see all walks of life. For me, training at Cook County is a defining period in which I am developing a more accurate understanding of the world, both the good and the bad. Training here, we become tougher, more confident individuals, more direct communicators, and resourceful and strategic thinkers. We are provided with the insight into our community necessary to be of service to those around us. I will personally always identify with this part of my life. Simply said, it is here that I am growing up.
