Master Instructor – Maternal Child, System Nursing Professional Development And Education

JOB SUMMARY                                       NNOC MEMBERS ONLY
The Master Instructor provides specialized consultation in staff development and continuing education for all nursing personnel. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting in planning and developing of educational programs, orientation of new staff, teaching classes in area of specialty and overall planning and evaluation of programs to develop staff.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master’s degree or higher level degree in nursing, healthcare or adult education. (Must provide official transcript at time of interview).
  • Minimum (2) years of recent experience in NICU, Labor and Delivery or Maternal/Child Health.
  • Minimum of (3) years of recent experience teaching and program planning and development.
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois (Must provide proof at time of interview).
  • Must be able to travel to all CCHHS affiliates and ACHN clinics on an as needed basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to obtain and synthesize data
  • Ability to engage adult learners
  • Project management skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate degree
  • Experience with e-based learning applications
Degrees and transcripts from non-U.S. accredited institutions must be translated and certified to the US equivalent academic credentials by a recognized US education interpreter service.
Must successfully meet the credentialing standards established by the Cook County Health and Hospitals System to include a State of Illinois license and any other license, certification or specialized training, etc. no later than two (2) weeks prior to the candidate’s start date.
