Provident Women’s Auxiliary
The Provident Women’s Auxiliary (PWA) of Provident Hospital of Cook County coordinates all fundraising activities to support the mission of the hospital. To date, they have raised approximately a million dollars in their 50 years of existence. Formerly known as the Professional Women’s Auxiliary of Provident Medical Center, they continued to meet after the closing of the hospital in 1987. When Provident reopened as Provident Hospital of Cook County, the group requested that they be allowed to remain as the hospital’s only fund raising entity. The group was later re-charted as the Provident Women’s Auxiliary (PWA) in 1994.
